Sandy Denny.

Alexandra Elene MacLean Denny (January 6 1947–April 21 1978) was a British folk-rock vocalist, born in Wimbledon, London, England.

As a tyke she exposed classical piano. She left school prior to ingesting A-levels and started to train as a nurse at Brompton Chest Hospital. Around 1965 she enrolled at Kingstin School of Art, in which she became included in the folk club on campus. It was there that she met fellow students John Renbourn and Eric Clapton. She travelled inside to Earls Court to play at a Troubadour club, where the member of The Strawbs heard her. Inside 1967 Sandy Denny was invited to joaround a b& and recorded of these album in Denmark with them, including a earliest version of her right-known (& widely covered) song "Who Knows Where the Time Goes." In 1968 she became lead vocaliser for Fairport Convention replacing Judy Dyble. She left a two inside 1969 upright prior to the release of "Liege and Lief," sequentially to do her have band, Fotheringay, including her boyfriend, Australian born Trevor Lucas. A b& broke higher when a single album and she so recorded solo albums, by using many members of Fairport Convention when guests. Inside 1973 she married Lucas & returned to Fairport for the globe tour & a second album, "Rising for the Moon," containing many of her have compositions.

In the time of her solo period she appeared in Lou Reitzner's version of The Who's rock opera "Tommy". Sandy was voted 'Female singer of the season' by Melody Maker in 197& 1971. She recorded the 1-off task known as "The Bunch", the collection of rock standards. She died of the Cerebral haemorrhage in 1978 after fall the flight of stairs. When her dying Trevor Lucas returned to Australia with their daughter Georgia. He died within 1989 of heart failure.
